Husainy Schools
The Husainy Trust manages three Government-Aided educational institutions located at Husainabad, Ramapuram, Chennai, collectively known as Husainy Schools:
- Husainy High School
- Husainy Elementary School
- Husainy English Medium School
These institutions form a central pillar of the Trust’s mission, providing structured, value-based education to children from diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds
Historical Development
The Husainy Elementary School was established in 1954, initially constructed with brick walls and asbestos roofing, and was formally declared open by Dr. Faridan, Cultural Advisor of Iran. In 1959, the school was upgraded to a Higher Elementary School, offering education from 1st to 8th Standard.
On 25 November 1965, Husainy High School was inaugurated by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M. Bhaktavatchalam. The Annual Day function was presided over by the Hon’ble Education Minister, Thiru V. R. Nedunchezhiyan, at Husainabad.
Significant infrastructure milestones include:
➤ Parpia Block, declared open on3 April 1991 by Sankara Subbian, IAS, Secretary to the Government of Tamil Nadu, Education Department
➤ Elementary School Building, inaugurated on7 March 1992 by Hujjatul Islam Maulana Ghulam Mohammed Taqi Khan Sahib Qibla
➤ Founder S. V. Mir Ahmed Ali Memorial Building(RCC structure) inaugurated on 21 November 2009 by I. Maulana Ghulam Mohammed Mehdi Khan Sahib Qibla
The Husainy English Medium School commenced in the Academic Year 2015–16. The Haji Habib Hussain Blockwas inaugurated in February 2015 by the Chief Educational Officer of Thiruvallur District, Mr. K. Chandrasekar.
Further expansions include:
➤ Additional first-floor classrooms for Husainy High School in memory ofLate Reza Nawaz Hussain, inaugurated on 8 March 2018 by T. Kamal Sheriff, Former Dean, Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University
➤ New classrooms for10th Standard, an Administrative Block, and infrastructure additions inaugurated on 22 August 2019
➤ Separateboys’ and girls’ washrooms, constructed with the support of Mark Collins NGO – Sanitation First India, inaugurated on 1 October 2021
