The Board of Trustees is the governing body of The Husainy Trust and is responsible for providing overall direction, oversight, and stewardship in accordance with the Trust’s constitution and applicable laws.
Composition
The Board comprises fifteen (15) Trustees, who are elected from among the members of the General Body for a term of three (3) years, and two (2) Co-opted Members, as provided for under the Trust’s constitution.
Role and Responsibilities
The Board of Trustees is entrusted with:
➤ Upholding the objectives and founding principles of the Trust
➤ Providing strategic direction and policy oversight
➤ Ensuring statutory compliance and fiduciary responsibility
➤ Overseeing the Trust’s institutions, assets, and finances
➤ Constituting and reviewing subcommittees
➤ Safeguarding institutional continuity and integrity
Governance Approach
The Board functions collectively, with decisions taken through due process as laid down in the Trust’s constitution. Trustees serve in a fiduciary capacity and ensure that the Trust’s activities remain aligned with its non-communal, non-political, and charitable character.
